Due to a delay of the inspection of the pitch and facilities by the Wilts FA of Stanley Park, the 1st teams debut in Senior football was delayed. As it happens the opposition were unable to play anyway, so our debut is now on wednesday 20th at HOME (ko 6.15pm) v Devizes Town. Both the 1sts and 2nds are at HOME on saturday 23rd (ko 3pm).
The 2nds had their first game in Wilts Div 2 (which is where the 1sts played last season) and had a good 3-2 win against a much larger and more physical Blunsdon United Res. Goals from Nathan Pritchard, Scott Carwithen (after pushing team mate Tom Jones out the way!) and a very well worked 3rd from Kotse Petrov. It is very encouraging to see that the 2nds appear to be a much stronger outfit than last season, although they will need to be with the step up in league standard.
Further players are still required to add to the squad, if we are to be able to run all 3 sides that we wish to. If you are interested just pitch up at training at Stanley Park on Tuesday or Thursday, starting at 7pm.
